PALM BEACH — According to a recent announcement from his publicist, Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise will be lending his name and financial support to a new music festival scheduled to debut in the winter of 2013.

The multi-day music festival, which has been dubbed Tom’s Cruise, will take place on a cruise ship that departs from Palm Beach, Florida and traveling to the Bahamas and back.

The festival was spawned by a number of unofficial cruise parties put together by the Mission Impossible star in years prior which were met with positive feedback.

“We’re very happy with what Tom is doing for our community,” says musician Beck, who has been booked to perform at the first official festival.

Like the previous unofficial parties, Tom’s Cruise aims to build relationships and support among musicians and music fans who identify as Scientologists.

A variety of other musicians and DJs have also been confirmed for the festival.

Danny Masterson of That 70s Show fame is slotted to perform as DJ Mom Jeans on the Weight Watchers stage; a secondary DJ-focused area of the ship curated by Kirstie Alley.

According to the publicist’s statement, many Sea Org members will also be aiding in organizing a variety of panels and unofficial after-parties on the ship.

“As it becomes increasingly challenging for musicians to make a living from their craft, we hope Tom’s Cruise will continue to provide a platform for fresh and exciting talent for billions of years to come.”
