Domino this fall will release the long-awaited second volume of its G Stands for Go-Betweens box set series, a 10-disc collection — five LPs and five CDs — that covers the Australian band’s output in the second half of the 1980s and will include unreleased live and studio material.

Due out Dec. 6, the lavish G Stands for G-Betweens: The Go-Betweens Anthology — Volume 2 box set will include vinyl pressings of The Go-Betweens’ studio albums Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express (1986), Tallulah (1987) and 16 Lovers Lane (1988). Also included on vinyl: a previously unreleased double live album called Fountains of Youth recorded in London on May 10, 1987.

The set also includes five CDs collecting “rare, hard-to-find and unreleased demos, recordings, radio sessions,” plus 28 songs intended for a 16 Lovers Lane follow-up recorded before the band’s 1989 breakup.

Also included: a Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express songbook that was prepared at the time of the album’s release by their publisher, but never printed. It contains hand-transcribed sheet music of all 10 songs on the record. The set also includes a reproduction of the promo poster for a Melbourne concert.

Finally, the first 400 orders worldwide through Domino’s webstore will include a book randomly selected from late Go-Betweens singer-songwriter Grant McLennan’s personal library. According to Domino, McLennan signed and dated some of the books in his collection, but there’s no guarantee purchasers will get one of those. Buyers also will not be notified if they’re one of the first 400.

The first installment of G Stands for Go-Betweens, covering the band’s work in the first half of the ’80s, was released in 2015 and has long been out-of-print.
