Years in the planning, the album features many of the best known VNV Nation songs, performed purely with Orchestra and Voice. No other studio instruments were used as the goal was for the release to be as authentic as possible.   Already very familiar with classical music, and having taken much inspiration from it for their own songs, this is the album that VNV Nation have always wanted to make.    The album was recorded with the world renowned Babelsberg Film Orchestra at their historic studios in Potsdam, Germany, right next to the stage where legendary films like Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” were filmed.   Only the best studios were used for the recording, mixing and mastering. The results speak for themselves and can only be described as majestic. This is a soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made.   The album is out on May 15th, on CD (for a limited time in a special Digibook format) and as a deluxe, limited-edition 6x10”/CD Boxset. Inspiration for the Boxset came from the style and quality of record sets from the days of 78s. A regular double vinyl album will also be released a few weeks after the CD and Boxset. Resonance markiert den wohl prestigeträchtigsten Moment in VNV Nations Laufbahn. Nach Jahren voller Planung finden sich auf diesem Album viele von VNV Nations beliebtesten Stücken, dargeboten ausschließlich von Orchester und Stimme. Andere Studioinstrumente kamen nicht zum Einsatz, da es das Ziel war, ein Werk zu schaffen, das so authentisch wie möglich ist. VNV Nation waren schon lange mit der klassischen Musik vertraut und haben darin oft die Inspiration für ihre eigenen Songs gefunden -  mit “Resonance” ist nun ein langersehnter Traum Wirklichkeit geworden. Das Album wurde mit dem weltberühmten Babelsberg Filmorchester in dessen historischen Räumen in Potsdam aufgenommen - ganz in unmittelbarer Nähe der Bühne, auf der legendäre Filme wie Fritz Langs “Metropolis” entstanden sind. Für die Aufnahme, das Mixing sowie das Mastering kamen nur die besten Studios infrage. Die Ergebnisse sprechen für sich und können durchaus als majestätisch bezeichnet werden. Dieses Album ist ein Soundtrack für einen Film der noch geschaffen werden muss. Das Album wird auf CD erhältlich sein (für einen kurzen Zeitraum in einem besonderen Digibook-Format) und als limitiertes Deluxe Vinyl/CD Boxset. Bei dem Boxset ließ sich VNV Nation vom Stil und dem Niveau der Album-Sets aus der Zeit der Schellack-Platten inspirieren. Ein reguläres Vinyl Doppelalbum wird ebenfalls, einige Wochen nach der Veröffentlichung der CD und des Boxsets, auf den Markt kommen.
