Trainspotting 2 want to be Extras?

Trainspotting 2 Needs Extras For An 80s Nightclub Scene

Choose life.

Remember how excited everyone was when we told you that Trainspotting 2 had started filming? Well, you can get even more excited about it because there’s actually a chance that you might be able to actually appear in the movie yourself.
This is probably only going to appeal to people from Edinburgh or at a push Scotland, but Edinburgh nightclub  has set up a Facebook event advertising for extras  in the shoot on June 14th. That’s a week on Tuesday so if you’re not in the immediate area and don’t fancy taking time off for this then it’s probably a no goer. Here are the details: Porno
Danny Boyle and the original cast will be in town for a very special 80s bash Want to be there? You need to – **be free throughout the afternoon and evening of 14th June **be between 18 & 30 years old **come dressed for 80s NIGHT We’ll have plenty of prizes to dish out for the best 80s costumes, including: 40” 4K TV, Picturehouse cinema membership, cinema tickets, signed Trainspotting & Irvine Welsh goodies Spaces are limited and admission to the event is not guaranteed !! By entering the premises you grant TS2 Productions Ltd (“the Company”) the right to use your voice and likeness in any and all media in connection with promoting and exploiting the film. No alcohol will be available during filming.
It sounds pretty awesome – but it also sounds like it’s probably going to be pretty difficult to get involved with it as 3.7K people are already attending and we’ve got almost two weeks before the actual event. It’s probably worth going down though if you live in the area and have got some great 80s clobber and can get down. I’m not really sure why it’s an 80s night though? I mean I suppose it could be a flashback but Trainspotting came out in 96 when all the characters were pretty much adults and now it’s 2016 so that doesn’t really make sense? I guess maybe they’re all going to an 80s night for someone’s birthday or something?

the end of Depeche Mode Dave Gahan shocks a French Journalist with an exclusive

Dave Gahan annonce la fin de Depeche Mode - Le Grand Journal du 03/11

Depeche Mode has sold more than 100 million records during a career that’s not had a lull over the course of three decades. Arguably the most popular and successful electronic band of all time, they still release albums that debut in the top 10 and continue to draw arena-sized crowds. Their influence can be heard in house, techno, industrial,

mainstream journalists and their stupid cliché questions, it’s a recurring problem for every musician.

Dave shocked a Journalist TV station Canal+by exclusively announcing the end of the band on the talk show Le Grand Journal  what do you think of your new album, is this the final release of your band, etc..

Dave Gahan decided to play ‘cavalier soul’ announcing the end of Depeche Mode. The ‘journalist Journal. Talking of a (non) exclusive! For a few seconds her face was set on disbelief until ...

You can watch the ‘interview’ fragment below.

But first the before (when Dave says he has an exclusive), during (when he announces the end of Depeche Mode)

In related Depeche Mode news,

Depeche Mode /dɨˌpɛʃˈmd/ are an English electronic band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The group's original line-up consisted of Dave Gahan (lead vocals, occasional songwriter since 2005), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter after 1981), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke(keyboards, chief songwriter from 1980 until 1981). Depeche Mode released their debut record in 1981, Speak & Spell, bringing the band onto the British new wave scene. Clarke left the band after the release of the album, leaving the band as a trio to record A Broken Frame, released the following year. Gore took over lead songwriting duties and, later in 1982, Alan Wilder (keyboards, drums, occasional songwriter) officially joined the band to fill Clarke's spot, establishing a line up that would continue for the next thirteen years. The band's last albums of the 1980s, Black Celebration and Music for the Masses, established them as a dominant force on the mainstream electronic music scene. A highlight of this era was the band's concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl, where they drew a crowd in excess of 60,000 people. In the new decade, Depeche Mode released Violator, a mainstream success. The subsequent album, Songs of Faith and Devotion, and the supporting Devotional Tour exacerbated tensions within the band to the point where Alan Wilder quit in 1995, leading to intense media and fan speculation that the band would split. Now a trio once again, the band released Ultra in 1997, recorded at the height of Gahan's near-fatal drug abuse, Gore's alcoholism and seizures and Fletcher's depression. The release of Exciter confirmed Depeche Mode's willingness to remain together, the subsequent, and very successful, Exciter Tour being their first tour in support of an original album in eight years since the Devotional Tour, although the band had toured in 1998 to support The Singles 86–98 compilation album. Depeche Mode have had fifty songs in the UK Singles Chart and thirteen top 10 albums in the UK charts, two of which debuted at No. 1. Depeche Mode have sold over 100 million records worldwide,[1] making them one of the most commercially successful electronic bands and one of the world's best-selling bands.[2] Qmagazine calls Depeche Mode "the most popular electronic band the world has ever known"[3] and included the band in the list of the "50 Bands That Changed the World!".[4] Depeche Mode also rank number 98 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists Of All Time

Dave Grohl 'breaks leg' in stage fall

Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl 'breaks leg' in stage fall

Media captionDave Grohl: "I'm going to go to hospital... and then I'm going to come back''

Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl is thought to have broken his leg after falling off the stage during a concert in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The band were two songs into their set at the Ullevi stadium when the singer went to jump on a ramp but missed and fell into the security area. "I think I just broke my leg," Grohl told the crowd as he lay on the ground. "I'm going to go to hospital. I'm going to fix my leg. And then I'm going to come back." He added: "You have my promise right now that the Foo Fighters - we're going to come back and finish the show."

Surreal

Eyewitnesses told the BBC that the band continued the concert, playing cover versions whilst Grohl sought medical attention.

Keiron Brennan 43, from London, filmed the moments just after the 46-year-old frontman toppled from the stage.

He said: "We were only around 200 yards away and at first we thought it was a prank but then it became apparent that it was quite serious. The drummer went ashen and jumped down to see where he was. Everyone was worried as we were only two songs into the gig and we couldn't see what had happened to him.

"He reappeared after an hour to continue the concert, sitting in a chair with his leg bandaged.

"It was surreal to see him perform on stage with a medic holding his leg. The crowd was just amazed that he was carrying on. He was just phenomenal. I can't see how he will make the next gig in Holland but then he's more of a man than I am so I wouldn't put it past him," he added.

Grohl fell at 21:00 local time (20:00 BST) and went on to perform for another two-and-a-half hours.

His band later tweeted a picture of what appears to be an x-ray of his leg.

The Foo Fighters are due to play their next concert on Sunday at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands, followed by Wembley Stadium in London next weekend and then a headline set at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK on 26 June.

This year has seen several musicians injured on stage.

Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine broke her foot leaping off stage at the Coachella Music Festival in April, while U2 guitarist The Edge misjudged his step and fell off the stage during the opening night of the band's Innocence and Experience tour.

Madonna also fell off stage during a live performance at the Brit Awards. The pop star continued her performance, but said she suffered "a little bit of whiplash".

Adult Wednesday Addams” Pulled From YouTube Over Copyright

“Adult Wednesday Addams” Pulled From YouTube Over Copyright

adult wednesday

Apparently there’s such a thing as a parody web series being too good. The hit series “Adult Wednesday Addams” created by Melissa Hunter has disappeared from YouTube after the original creators of “The Addams Family” flagged it.

The web series shot to fame recently when an episode about Wednesday Addams getting her revenge on catcallers went viral and earned her international press coverage — enough to catch the attention of the Tee & Charles Addams Foundation, who hold the copyright for the work of American cartoonist Charles Addams.

The decision may be connected to an upcoming reboot of “The Addams Family” as an animated film from MGM, announced last Halloween.

Melissa addressed the show’s disappearance on Facebook. “Thank you for the outpouring of support and concern about the disappearance of Adult Wednesday Addams from the internet. As many of you have seen, the Tee & Charles Addams Foundation flagged the show and, for now, it is off of YouTube. I am working actively on coming to a resolution and will not let Wednesday be caged in internet purgatory. I appreciate your patience and support while I sort this issue out!”

Judging by the flood of dismayed comments, “Adult Wednesday Addams” fans are not going to accept this decision easily.

I don't understand why this isn't covered as parody?

nope if it's parody. The problem is that this isn't a parody of the universe or character, but a direct, logical progression in the form of a fan made

but a direct, logical progression in the form of a fan made sequel. It's why Scary Movie can copy all the movies they did, so this is the issue "Wednesday Addams" is (c) by MGM

This the response I received:

Dear Michael Goodwin,

Thank you for your comments concerning the suspension of Melissa Hunter's The Adult Wednesday Addams©. Unfortunately for all involved, it is not as simple as you are thinking it might be: The Establishment versus the artist - on the contrary.

We have a contract with MGM to produce a full-length animated feature film of The Addams Family® to look exactly as Charles Addams originally painted them. That contract prohibits anyone from portraying those characters in any media during the life of the contract.

Regardless of her talent or the breadth of her audience or the entertainment it gave you, the online series is a violation of that contract, something for which both Ms Hunter and this Foundation could have been sued heavily. You can thank Melissa Hunter for not having understood the need to contact us so as to obtain a license to protect her show. Now it is too late and she will have to wait to resume her career as the Adult Wednesday Addams© until a year after the film has been released.

Hopefully, she realizes that she already has an audience and merely needs to change the title of her show and her appearance.

With best regards, Tee and charles addams foundation P.O. Box 424 • SAGAPONACK, NEW YORK 11962 (T) 631-537-4554 www.addamsfoundation.org www.charlesaddams.com

Alien' gargoyle on found ancient Paisley Abbey

      safe_image

A gargoyle on a historic 13th Century abbey has caused a social media sensation with its resemblance to the monster from the Alien films.

A photograph of the gargoyle at Paisley Abbey, which looks like one from the 1980s movie, has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter.

The Reverend Alan Birss said most of the gargoyles were replaced during a refurbishment in the early 1990s.

He thinks that one of the stonemasons must have been having a bit of fun.

Mr Birss, minister at the abbey, said that 12 medieval gargoyles which had been on the abbey for hundreds of years had to be taken down in 1991 because they had "crumbled and were in a very bad state".

The purpose of the grotesque figures was to take rain water away from the roof in the days before down pipes.

Just one of the original gargoyles was left outside the abbey to show how they would have looked, although there are medieval grotesques inside the building.

The stonemason created 12 new gargoyles

Mr Birss said a stonemason from an Edinburgh firm was contracted to create the new gargoyles.

"I think it was a stonemason having a bit of fun," he said.

"Perhaps the film was fairly new when they were carving this and if he was thinking of an alien perhaps the alien from the film was his idea of an alien.

"I'm sure he wasn't deliberately copying the alien in the film. It was just a concept of an alien."

Mr Birss said an internet search showed that someone had pointed out the similarity as far back as 1997.

"But it obviously did not pick up and take off then like it has now," he said.

Church officer Matthew McIntosh said: "It is a beautiful building. Paisley gets a bad press but the abbey is the jewel in the crown.

"People will be surprised and delighted by everything they see outside and inside."
